I Tried It So You Don’t Have To Buy It: Face Masks

Living in New York, and getting my makeup professionally done, sometimes several times a day (insert the world’s smallest violin), has made me vigilant about taking care of my skin. One of the best ways to revitalize it is to use face masks. I tested three popular masks:

Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask

This is offered at two price points: 5 ounces for $52 or 1.7 ounces for $32. The mask is made using stem cells from five rose plants. As you would imagine, it smells delicious. It focuses on helping improve the look of wrinkles, hydration and dullness. My skin was incredibly soft and had a beautiful glow after using it.

TIP: Stick the jar in your fridge for a couple of hours before using . . . put that coolness on your face and enjoy. You’re welcome.

Mario Badescu Cucumber Tonic Mask

The cucumber tonic mask retails for $18 for 2 ounces. It aims to, “effectively deep clean congested skin. Help tighten and minimize the look of pores.” Unlike the other masks, this one hardens on your face. This mask has a long-lasting effect. My skin looked toned days after I used it.

Fresh Rose Mask

Clearly, I love the smell of roses and this is one of my favorite masks of all time. It sells for $62 for 100ml and is worth the cost. This mask hydrates and my skin looks replenished after using it.
